Please mobilize your people to go back to farm, Buhari urges traditional rulers

President Buhari yesterday asked traditional rulers in Nigeria to mobilize their subjects to go back to their farms. Buhari made the appeal while hosting Council of Traditional Rulers at the state house Abuja yesterday June 29th. He said the dwindling price of oil has forced the Federal government to look in other directions to source for revenue.

"In food production, Nigeria, we can feed ourselves and even export. This is why we are seriously turning to agriculture. That is why I’m asking you, for our own survival as a nation state, keep on telling our people that whoever has a piece of land, please let him cultivate it even if he is going to cultivate what he will eat and feed his family. This is very, very serious representation I brought to you to please make sure that you mobilize your people to go back to farm to achieve self-sufficiency in food production,’’ he said.

Expert claims that by 2025 women will have more sex with robots than with men

If futurologist Dr Ian Pearson is to be believed, women are set to dump men for robots and the revolution is not so far into the future, just ten years away. In a report he compiled on the future of sex, he claims that in as little as a decade, women will have more sex with cyborgs than with men and the practice will be as common as watching porn.

Dr Pearson claims in his report that robot sex may become so popular that it will overtake human intercourse - and will be fully-fledged by 2050.
In the report, commissioned by Bondara, the Dr Pearson claims:
"A lot of people will still have reservations about sex with robots at first but gradually as they get used to them, as the AI (artificial intelligence) and mechanical behaviour and their feel improves, and they start to become friends with strong emotional bonds, that squeamishness will gradually evaporate."
His reports claims that rather than view these machines as mere sex toys, humans may even fall in love with them, practice termed Robophilia.
Many people have voiced concerns over this growing trend fearing the robots could soon replace human interaction.
This is a machine that has tank tracks, and is already widely used in specialist adult movies

Ex Chief of Air Staff returns "N2.6billion" to the Federal government

Counsel to embattled Immediate Past Chief of Air Staff, Adesola Amosu, Bolaji Ayorinde (SAN), yesterday told the Federal High Court in Lagos that Amosu has returned a colossal sum from the N21 billion he allegedly laundered while in office. The colossal sum according to EFCC sources is put at N2.6 billion. Amosu's counsel made this known while arguing his bail application during his arraignment.

“He has remitted colossal sums of money to the Federal Government, although not in admittance of guilt, but out of cooperation with security agencies. My application is that bail be granted to the first defendant on self-recognition. Let those terms be liberal. He has been reporting to the EFCC, sometimes twice a week. The first defendant will make himself available for trial,”he said.

'A guy could assume I'm dating someone & not approach me, when I'm actually single' - Khloe K slams fake dating rumours

Khloe Kardashian has responded to rumours which insinuate that her new boyfriend is singer Trey Songz, after she was spotted flirting with him while leaving her 32nd birthday party this week. The reality star took to her IG to call out tabloids for their sensationalized and sexist headlines. She wrote,
"The most annoying thing about tabloid rumors is the double standard. If I'm 'spotted' hanging with a guy at a party—even if I'm just saying hi for a quick second - it immediately becomes a negative headline about how many guys I'm dating or how I'm getting into a new relationship. Men don't get that reputation! People have taken pictures of me and say they're proof of something concrete. Pictures are just moments in time. They never show the whole truth. In Hollywood, you could go out on a first date and it could spiral into this huge thing. The headline the next day is 'Khloé's Getting Married!' LOL. It's so weird. That stuff definitely makes it difficult to take it slow and see how things go. I normally don't comment on those stories, but if it gets out of control, I'll speak up—especially because that kind of gossip affects how people see me. A guy could assume I'm dating someone and not approach me, when I'm actually single. Sometimes I completely avoid going out in public with a new guy because I don't want to deal with the sexist headlines.

Death of Kano student in India: The untold story - By Salihu Tanko Yakasai

Read Salihu's piece below...
It is often difficult to put forward facts and figures or advance reasons when emotions are high. This is even more so when a serious and solemn event like death has been used to appeal to sentiments and achieve a target. It is the situation we found ourselves in Kano with the death in India of a Kano State student, Jibril Abubakar Jibril.
Jibril was, until his death, studying Pharmacy at the Bapuji Pharmacy College in, India, on Kano state Government scholarship.
While it was indeed painful seeing how tempers were whipped high by some people whose target is actually not sympathy for the deceased’s family or even the suffering of the late student prior to his death, but rather using the unfortunate incidence for certain ends, one still felt the need for restrain to let tempers calm before setting the records straight.
The first and very important information on the travails of the deceased student that was conveniently ignored by hate mongers is that late Jibril was actually involved in a fatal road accident in India while travelling very late at night on April 4, 2016. It was not only him. His fellow student, Usman Safiyanu Jaafar was on him during the ill-fated journey.
However, while Usman Jaafar sustained mainly bruises that were treated and he was discharged immediately, Jibril was not as lucky. He sustained serious neck injuries that required surgery. And because of the cordial relationship between the school and the Kano State government, Jibril’sschool did not waste time in taking care of him while they contact the government.
The government’s link man in India, the consultant that is like the guide of all our students there immediately sent an email to the Scholarship Board and other government figures. He broke the sad news and informed the authorities here that a relative of Jibril also on scholarship in the same institution had signed a consent form for an immediate surgery. The consultant equally attached another form for Jibril’s father back in Kano to sign for further work to continue.
The uncle of the student was then called to the Scholarships Board where he was briefed on the sad development and the consent form was presented to him. The duly signed form was then posted back to India.
However, because of the medical report the government received and the critical nature of the student’s condition, and after Governor AbdulllahiUmar Ganduje was briefed about the situation, the state government promptly sponsored two members of his family – his mother and a brother to travel to Bangalore to look after him.
The state government also requested that Jibril be given the best care he could get and that was how he was transferred to the best hospital in Bangalore despite the doctors saying his survival chances was just about 10 percent.
The governor directed the Executive Secretary of the Scholarships Board to keep tab of development around the patient and keep him abreast of developments as they unfold. The Scholarship Board was therefore on daily contact with the doctors in India, the college’s principal, Jibril’smother and the consultant who was monitoring everything. On days his condition warranted, officials of the board even got to speak to Jibril himself.
When the student eventually died, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology immediately facilitated the transportation of his remains alongside his mother and brother who were sponsored to nurse him. This was done as urgently as possible in line with the Islamic injunctions on funeral and in order for the deceased student to be given befitting burial as ordained by Islam.
The foregoing has shown the level of concern and commitment the Kano State Government has shown on this unfortunate happening, contrary to the falsehood peddled since the death of Jibril. Indeed, no one can rescue a soul whose time is up but for sure the government has done its extreme best to help Jibril and his family in their hours of need.
Kano State Government has so far paid a total sum of $27,474 (Twenty seven thousand, four hundred and seventy four dollars) to settle the medical bills of late Jibril and other related expenses.
All that was done, of course, was backed by finances and the government did not hesitate in releasing all necessary funds for treatment and other needs for the late Jibril. His school was up to its responsibility by paying up the initial bills for emergency care before contacting the government. Immediately the government came in it paid up the bills accrued by the school in giving the early care and continued from there till the end.
With all this effort on the government’s side I wonder why anyone would go and manufacture conjectures about neglect or whatever in this case. It is nothing less than inhumanity for anyone to cease the grief of a family and turn it into a political mischief trick, which is what happened in this incidence.
May the soul of Jibril find repose in the nicest of Jannah. May Allah comfort his family, ameen.‎

UEFA fine Russia €150000 as French authorities set to deport up to 50 Russian fans

Following the fan violence which marred the EURO 2016 clash between England and Russia, European football's governing body, UEFA has slammed Russia with a €150000 and a suspended
disqualification from the tournament, to be enforced in case of repeated violence.
 In a statement, Uefa said:
"Charges relating to crowd disturbances, use of fireworks and racist behaviour had been brought against the RFU (Russian Football Union)"
It said the ethics committee had decided to impose a fine of €150,000 (£118,857) and a suspended disqualification of the Russian national team until the end of the tournament. The Uefa executive committee still have the power punish further.
"Such suspension will be lifted if incidents of a similar nature (crowd disturbances) happen inside the stadium at any of the remaining matches of the Russian team during the tournament."
Russia meanwhile has condemned the behaviour of unruly Russian fans calling them "absolutely unacceptable". Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said:
"This is absolutely unacceptable. We count on Russian citizens and fans to obey the laws of the country they are in, we can only call on our fans not to react to any sort of provocation".

The head of Russian supporter's group, Alexander Shprygin, made an allegation that France wants to deport almost 50 Russians after seizing passports:
"They want to deport almost 50 people including women who did not take part in anything," Shprygin told the Reuters news agency. The police are making up for their mistakes three days ago. We are in a bus in Cannes and we have been blocked in by riot police. We are not going anywhere for the time being and are waiting for the consul."
French officials were unable to immediately corroborate the claims from Russia, but said 29 Russians were stopped in Mandelieu early on Tuesday by police who checked their ID. There were no immediate reports of arrests, French officials added.
